⚡ Quick reference¶
- Baseline: Foragers generate some wood, military −20% gold, naval durability. UU Organ Gun (pass-through gunpowder). UT Arquebus.
- Requiem v294: starting age Feudal; kills-to-Castle 300; razes-to-vill 2.
- CBA role: multi-projectile gunpowder.
- Post-vill: Organ Gun behind screen + BBC.
- Weak vs: fast cavalry, surrounds.
📜 Deep playbook¶
🏛️ Standard DE profile
- Civ bonuses:
- All units cost –15% gold.
- +6 line-of-sight for all units.
- Ships have +10% HP.
- Free Cartography from Feudal Age.
- All techs research 25% faster (Feitoria trades 20-second garrison for gold/stone eco once built).
- Team bonus: Age advancement +25% faster (allies age up quicker).
- Unique units:
- Castle UU: Organ Gun (siege-workshop-style castle unit with multi-projectile scatter).
- Dock UU: Caravel (multi-projectile galley).
- Unique techs:
- Castle Age: Carrack — Ships +1/+1 armor.
- Imperial Age: Arquebus — Gunpowder units track moving targets (huge Organ Gun/HC accuracy boost).
- Notable missing techs: no Paladin (stops at Cavalier), no Halberdier, no Heavy Camel, no Siege Onager, no Bloodlines (yes has Bloodlines actually — verify; DE gives Portuguese Bloodlines), no Blast Furnace (verify per patch — Portuguese have Blast Furnace).
- Wall availability: Palisade, Stone, Fortified — all present.
🏰 CBA REQUIEM v294 profile
(v294 numbers: Fandom wiki, retrieved 2026-08-21)
- Starting age: Feudal (Requiem v294 start table).
- Spawn unit: Organ Gun (Castle UU spawn).
- Spawn interval: 10 s per Castle.
- Unit cap: 60 (Organ Gun caps low in most CBA mods due to projectile overload — verify v294 table).
- Kills to Castle: 300.
- Kills to Imperial: 600.
- Razes to first villagers: 2.
- Subsequent raze payoff: not listed in the v294 wiki table — ask in the Requiem Discord.
- Free starting tech: base civ has free Cartography; CBA whitelist typically pre-applies full gunpowder line (Chemistry, Ballistics irrelevant for Organ, but Bloodlines/BF for post-villager). Specific v294 free stack none listed in the v294 wiki table.
- Elite trigger: silver-UT threshold flips Organ Gun to Elite Organ Gun.
- Silver-UT unlock: not listed in the v294 wiki table — ask in the Requiem Discord.
- Available buildings / disabled units after villagers: Barracks, Archery Range, Stable, Siege Workshop, walls/gates, up to 10 Bombard Towers (Castles and Town Centers can NEVER be built; Blacksmith & University are pre-placed). Bombard Cannon is listed as disabled in the v294 notes despite being a Portuguese signature — verify in the loaded scenario. No trebuchet. No elephants (civ-locked).
CBA role & archetype
- Primary role: Ranged siege / stand-and-delete artillery. Organ Gun deletes stacked units; Arquebus tracking makes it accurate at range.
- Secondary role: post-villager BBC anchor for the team.
🌅 Opening play (pre-villager)
- Minute 0–3: set spawn behind your front-line teammate. Never lead with Organ Gun.
- Patrol pattern: static hold pattern behind a melee tank (Teuton, Slav, Byzantine). Do not patrol Organ Gun into the melee ball — they scatter and die to any dive.
- Preferred fights: stacked melee balls (Huskarl, TK, Samurai, Jaguar, Berserk) at 6–8 range through a friendly tank.
- Fights to refuse: any dive UU (Cataphract, Shotel, Camel, Winged Hussar in melee range).
⚔️ Kill accumulation strategy
- Safest kill farm: any dense melee civ that walks into your line.
- Avoid feeding: dive civs — Ethiopians (Shotel), Persians (War Elephant walks through Organ Gun trivially in some patches), Franks (Paladin dive).
- Anti-cage rule: Organ Gun cages fast because it has low HP; always keep a repair vill or castle-garrison escape.
🏚️ Raze allocation
- Portuguese are a priority 1-raze recipient because –15% gold cost + tech research speed makes their post-villager comp explode. Feed them razes early.
- Feed razes to: teammates with expensive UUs (Turks Janissary, Spanish Conq).
👷 Post-villager composition
- Wall order: aggressive backwall + double gate on the front for BBC pop-out.
- Standard build: 2 Barracks, 2 Archery Ranges, 1 Stable, 2 Siege Workshops.
- Imperial composition: Bombard Cannon + Hand Cannoneer + Halb (no — Pikeman only) + Ram. Add Organ Gun as anti-swarm cleanup. Portuguese HC + Arquebus is one of the top ranged comps in CBA.
- Silver-UT priority: Arquebus first (tracking = accuracy on Organ + HC + BBC), Carrack irrelevant on land CBA.
⚖️ Strong against / Weak against
- Strong vs.: melee balls, siege stacks, elephant stacks (with BBC), any slow-moving comp.
- Weak vs.: fast dive (Shotel, Cataphract, Winged Hussar, Mangudai kite that focuses the Organ line).
🤝 Team synergies
- Best pairs: Teutons (tank front, Organ deletes behind), Byzantines (cheap Halb + Cataphract screen), Slavs (Boyar tank).
- Conflicts: another squishy ranged civ on the same flank (Portuguese + Chinese = no tank).
🎮 Key micro rules
- Never lead — always position behind a tank.
- Attack-ground stacked balls; don't rely on Organ auto-target.
- Keep spread — one Onager kills clumped Organs.
- Repair with vills once you have them; Organ HP is low.
- Prioritize Arquebus the moment silver-UT unlocks.
⚠️ Common mistakes
- Patrolling Organ Gun into melee.
- Ignoring BBC post-villager and staying on pure Organ.
- Forgetting the team bonus (age-up speed) — it does nothing in CBA post-Imperial start, so don't build a plan around it.
🔒 Version-locked (Requiem v294)
- BBC availability and treb availability are v294 whitelist decisions — verify.
- Organ Gun projectile count/damage has changed multiple times in DE patches.
